Ride For Life 2008.....

This event was truly wonderful!  It was a great cause and I can't wait to go back!  Congrats to all the great rides!  A big thanks to our group leader, Tanya Horning.  A big round of applause for our survivors, Tanya, Nanci, and Sally.  This is a short list from Tanya about some "moments" in our weekend...

Some of my favorite moments from the weekend are:
-being greeted by Liz Erwin and Pat Artimovich in the show office, then being asked by Karen Jacob to show my tattoo.
-trying to carry on conversation with Isabel while Mr. Pacey cell phone guy was in background waving his hands and saying "NEVERTHELESS" over and over
-seeing Meredith put in two solid dressage tests while pickled on bourbon.  Meredith reading my tests for me, and saying "gooooood girlllllllllll to me as I trotted by out of earshot of the judge
-finally meeting Grace and flirting with her cool dog Oliver
-watching Sally's stellar ride on Gin-ger (Gin-jzher) Rogers and hollering like a bunch of NC fools
-hearing Sally and Nanci's names announced over loud speaker that they had won high point survivor awards for their divisions
-seeing Susie's new dressage move "x halt salute, signal Sir Mix Alot in the stands that she needs a cocktail"
-Amanda riding with a broken finger(!) wearing modified gloves to accommodate for the little cast
-Parker's fabulous cheddar/bacon burgers and the conversation at the luncheon.
-Seeing my horse pals decked out in real clothes and make-up, Jason in his cowboy hat
-Susanna riding Fidge-licious and doing a damn good job of it, and picking up her test and ribbon
-Seeing Nanci have her picture taken with her mare covered head to tail in ribbons from the weekend
-Patrick trying to keep the Fidge out of the pink flowers "all you can eat buffet" while they took our photo, while he was wearing his smashing new halter that we won for 2nd place overall high pledge.
On to 2009.......See you then!
